There was a distinct air of positivity in the bull pens during pre-sale inspections at our 7th JAD Speckle Park Bull + Female Sale, held on April 4, 2025. With a big jump up in the numbers of bulls and stud heifers produced and offered, we were proud of the line-up and grateful for the support on sale day.
There were buyers from five states, with several large-scale commercial cattlemen among the mix. A big thank you everyone who supported our 7th Autumn JAD Sale – we really appreciateThanks to the team from Macdeb Livestock Transport for once again delivering the sale animals, north and south, without fuss.
Summary of Results:
- 46/47 stud bulls averaged $9631 and topped at $18,000 (twice) – 10 more bulls sold than at last year’s JAD Sale, with the average down by just $212/head. A huge thank you to Burrunah Pty Ltd, Mudgee, NSW (lot 30: JAD Urban Cowboy U137), and SF & SL Abraham, Waterhouse TAS (lot 33: JAD Upper Deck U375), for purchasing the top-priced bulls
- 24/24 PTIC F1 Commercial Speckle Park/Angus heifers sold to $2750 and averaged $2654 – 8 fewer commercial heifers than were offered at last year’s sale, with the average up by $185/head
- 3/3 PTIC recipient cows sold to $6250 and averaged $5417
- 16/16 semen straw packages averaged $289 per straw (up $26/straw on last year’s sale) and topped at $500/straw for semen from our exciting new sire, JAD The Marshall T87 (JAD T87)
- $1400 donated to the Black Dog Institute – 10% of the sale price of the Lot 2 bull (JAD Urban Legend U27 (JAD U27), which was purchased by new buyers to JAD, Golden Pastoral Holdings, Yuleba, QLD. We have now donated a combined $18,040 to the Black Dog Institute through this initiative at our first nine JAD sales, including our female sale in 2023.
