Full clearance at Inaugural JAD QLD Sale

Friday, August 2, 2024

The location was outstanding, the weather turned it on, the bulls looked fantastic, and the Speckle Park beef was delicious and a hit! We couldn’t have asked for more from our Inaugural JAD Speckle Park & Angus QLD Bull Sale at Rolleston on August 2, 2024.

We were stoked to have our cattle so well received by Central QLD cattle producers. At auction, 20/22 Speckle Park bulls topped at $12,000 and averaged $6316, while all 13 HBR-registered JAD Angus bulls topped at $18,000 and averaged $11,692. The remaining two bulls sold straight after the sale finished, with 35/35 bulls averaging… Continue reading

6th JAD Autumn Sale our favourite yet

Friday, April 5, 2024

There’s nothing like rain on the roof to stimulate a wonderful sale day atmosphere! We have pegged our 2024 annual Autumn sale – our 6th sale, held on April 5 – as our favourite sale yet. The rain fell pretty much all day but that didn’t dampen spirits, with a large crowd present.

We were rapt with the feedback received by those in attendance about the consistent, high quality of the offering, and appreciate that we were well-rewarded for our offering, with every lot sold to four states. A big thanks to the team at Macdeb Livestock Transport, who delivered… Continue reading

Friday, September 29, 2023

We hosted the JAD Speckle Park ACCELERATE Female Sale on September 29, 2023, and were stoked to see such a high level of support from repeat and new buyers, despite dwindling livestock markets and seasonal conditions. All lots were sold – with a heifer passed in at auction sold soon after the sale concluded. In the breakdown:

Nearly 40 at BredWell FedWell Workshop

Friday, September 22, 2023

We hosted nearly 40 people across two days on September 21 and 22, as Alastair Rayner, RaynerAg, presented two Meat & Livestock Australia BredWell FedWell Workshops.

BredWell FedWell (BWFW) is a practical, one-day introductory workshop on how productivity and profitability can be improved through good breeding and feeding over the livestock production cycle, with a specific focus on profit drivers.

Producers can use the outcomes of the workshop to develop a genetics and nutrition regime suited to their environment and markets to boost profitability.

2023 JAD Sale equals stud bull record

Friday, March 31, 2023

We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere at our 5th JAD Sale, held on March 31, 2023, and thank each and every person who came along. It was great to see our largest offering of bulls to date all go out into the industry, with cattle sold to every state of Australia. A big thanks to the team at Macdeb Livestock Transport, who delivered the sale animals without fuss. It has been great to hear from people who bought online and have been particularly pleased with the quality of their new JAD animals upon delivery. That has been a real thrill for… Continue reading

2022 JAD Sale soars to new heights

Friday, April 1, 2022

We now have four JAD sales under our belt and the absolute best part about our fourth sale, held on April 1, 2022, was the huge amount of support from repeat clients, who invested far more into our program than ever before. That tells us that we are on the right track, and that is literally ALL that matters to us. Thank you so much to those repeat clients, and also to those new clients who have joined the JAD family. We look forward to a long and successful relationship together. Thank you also to all of the underbidders, and… Continue reading

JAD secures NZ record sire, Maungahina Promise

Thursday, July 2, 2020
We purchased Maungahina Promise P194 (MAU P194) at the 2020 Maungahina Speckle Park Sale for NZD $35,000 - a New Zealand record for a Speckle Park bull. We saw Promise when we visited the McKenzie family in January 2020, and he was both Justin and Amy's "pick" of the draft. Continue reading

Overwhelming support at 2nd JAD sale

Friday, March 27, 2020
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported our second annual JAD Speckle Park Bull + Female Sale on March 27, 2020. What a rollercoaster of a week leading up to sale day! We went from planning to have our sale at the same location as last year – at “Dulcidene”, Dubbo – to completely relocating our sale to our property, “Greenvale”, Yeoval, due to health concerns around the rapidly-expanding coronavirus pandemic, and the knowledge that AuctionsPlus online bidding would play a massive role in this year’s sale.
