The dust has finally settled after our 8th annual JAD Speckle Park Bull + Female Sale, held on Friday, April 17, 2026, and we were thrilled with how it went. The calibre of commercial cattle producers inspecting the bulls pre-sale, and the positive atmosphere there was, gave us great faith in our program and the future for Speckle Park. A big thanks to the team at Macdeb Livestock Transport, who delivered the majority all sale animals within one week of the sale being completed, and all without fuss. It has been great to hear from people who bought online via AuctionsPlus and have been particularly pleased with the quality of their new JAD animals upon delivery. Thank you for trusting in our program.
In the sale breakdown:
35/46 stud bulls averaged $9032 and topped at $20,000, with several more selling after the sale. A huge thank you to the Van der Drift family of Black Diamond Speckle Park, Macorna, VIC, for purchasing the lot 27 top-priced bull, JAD Venomous V160 (JAD V160)
24/34 PTIC purebred registered heifers sold to average $6911 and top at $10,000, with all passed-in heifer lots sold soon after the sale. The top priced heifer was lot 59: JAD S50 Unique V243 (JAD V243) and she was purchased by new client, Helen Golding, Yuleba, QLD. Narrabri, NSW. All stud heifers were pregnant to calve as two-year-olds
All bar one of the passed in heifers, and several bulls, sold in the days after the sale, as did a further seven PTIC stud heifers from our herd, which went to new clients in Western Australia
15/15 semen straw packages averaged $208 per straw, and topped at $350/straw for semen from our exciting sire, JAD The Marshall T87 (JAD T87)
$1800 was donated to the Black Dog Institute – 10% of sale proceeds from the Lot 2 bull, which was purchased for $18,000 by repeat clients to JAD, Golden Pastoral Holdings, Yuleba, QLD. We have now donated a combined $22,100 to the Black Dog Institute through this initiative, and look forward to doing it all again at our 3rd JAD Speckle Park & Angus QLD Bull Sale at Rolleston on August 21.
