Justin spotted Spencer from across the corral (yard/pen) when we visited Johner Stock Farm, Canada, in late-2016. He was only a young bull at the time and we wanted to know allll about him! We loved his early maturity pattern, his outlook, his long body, he moved really well – and we wanted a piece of him. We took a real chance on Spencer and ended up registering 42 2018-drop calves by him, ET-bred from seven of the Johner family’s top stud cows and one of our own.
Spencer has produced females that are long, soft, feminine, early maturing and milking really well. He sired the absolute best calves of our 2018-drop, with several females retained and now breeding very well for us. Spencer is a myostatin non-carrier (nt821F), homozygous polled (PcPc), red-gene free (RGF), leptin CT, and has never produced a black calf despite having plenty of opportunity to do so through extensive use in our stud and commercial herds.
