Nicky Reeves, Benbullen Speckle Park, Boisdale VIC

We purchased JAD Renaissance R39 from the 2022 JAD Sale and his calves are absolute crackers. We used him over our commercials as well as a select few registered cows and they are definitely stand-outs.
A great start to spring down our way saw the calves hit the ground with plenty of milk to kick start but then the season just cut out. Yet still these calves are magnificent. They are in a mob of about 100 cows and calves, and you can just pick them as they have such a presence and standout. Length, depth – we are just so happy.
We come back to JAD year-after-year because we have great trust in what Justin and Amy do, and how they run their operation. It’s not just their knowledge of genetics and the breed, it’s the whole story – family, farm, ethics – the whole thing.

Samantha Murray, Murrayfield Speckle Park, Bathurst NSW

Having founded my Speckle Park Stud in 2022, it was crucial for me to establish a functional, feminine female herd that thrived in central west conditions. I quickly became interested in JAD Speckle Park animals when researching studs that put a lot of effort into commercial reality of their stud animals. Performance recording and data acquisition within stud, with proof on the ground productivity was important for my purchasing decisions.
I was fortunate enough to purchase two yearling females from established female lines at the JAD Accelerate Sale in September 2023 and went on to purchase another female from their sale at a later date.
These females have not only put on weight continuously since purchase, they have kept their condition in poor rainfall conditions and were in calf within their first cycles after joining. They are all naturally quiet, incredibly maternal and are developing into beautiful feminine, well-structured and functional females that will continue within my herd for many years to come.
I have complete faith and confidence in using JAD genetics as they are trialled on-farm first and the proof is in the progeny, not only in phenotype but also estimated breeding values!
Justin and Amy have always done their absolute best to advise and help where possible in my dealings with them and they should be commended on continuously trying to improve the genetic and commercial merit of their stud via field days and workshops offered to many other producers.
Their passion for breeding animals that thrive in Australian conditions and that will continue to meet Australian market demands for quality beef is infectious and something we can all strive towards.

Matt Webber, Elevation Speckle Park, Denman NSW

On behalf of our family’s stud, Elevation Speckle Park, located at Denman NSW, I purchased JAD N5 at the inaugural JAD sale in 2019. Justin and Amy had been generous enough to allow me to inspect the ET-drop calves the previous year, and I had N5 highlighted from then. I was very impressed with the thoroughness of the testing and data collected on all the lots, so that no matter your selection criteria you had the information supplied. Since our purchase, the follow-up from JAD has been great and they take great pride in the results their clients are achieving. We could not be happier with our experience, cow and her subsequent calf!

Jack Nelson, Jackungah Speckle Park, Pine Lodge VIC

At the first JAD sale, we were lucky enough to purchase two lots – a bull and a stud female. We used the bull heavily in our commercial program, with him covering 80 cows and heifers across the Autumn and Spring. The first calves are hitting the ground now! We’ve had 21 unassisted calves to date with another 19 to come this Autumn. All calves have been colour-marked with some serious shape about them. We purchased the heifer as a potential donor female for her refined front end, neck extension, heart room and her overall depth and volume. She was backed by a strong maternal line and confirmed in calf to JSF Wall Street 36E. Since the sale, the heifer has calved down a 28kg bull calf, and developed a magnificent udder. The bull calf continues to grow and the heifer will be rejoined in our Autumn program. We’ve loved following the JAD program and look forward to seeing this year’s offering!

Paul and Rachel Long, Lagoon Speckle Park Stud, Maitland, NSW

We were fortunate to purchase a heifer at the Inaugural JAD Speckle Park Sale to complement the establishment of our Hunter Valley-based stud. The attraction for Rachel and I was that, from the outset, the data that was available on all of the JAD animals, combined with the genetic firepower that was being presented as part of the inaugural draft of sale cattle. Justin and Amy have been extremely professional to deal with – pre-sale, on the day of the sale, and post-sale. Their approach to their cattle and their clients has always remained the same – first class. We would have no hesitation in recommending anyone who is considering Speckle Park cattle to contact JAD – their enthusiasm for the breed is infectious.

Willy and Sandra Verdonschot, Sandra Jane’s Speckle Park, Monto, QLD

We purchased two heifers at the first annual JAD sale last March. After getting them home, all we can say is “wow”. They are lovely heifers who have just fit in our herd. JAD N28 calved out easy with a ripping good heifer (pictured, left). After the auction site went down, we had no video and no sound – only the ability to bid. So, we virtually bought these heifers unseen. They have not disappointed us. Justin and Amy have been very supportive – always willing to answer any questions along the way.

Dennis and Maree Johnson, ValleyView Speckle Park, Forth, TAS

Since making the decision in 2015 to move forward with running Speckle Park cattle in Tasmania, we have formed a close working relationship with JAD Agriculture/JAD Speckle Park at Yeoval, NSW. We purchased some heifers to begin our breeding program and found Justin and Amy Dickens to be very helpful, friendly, and they assisted with transport.

The breeding behind the heifers suited our conditions in Tasmania, and they travelled the distance home exceptionally well. We are very comfortable with Justin recommending specific lines of his stock as he chooses cattle that will fit into our breeding program. Their stock come from great lines of breeding. Following visits to Justin and Amy’s farm, we feel sure we will be purchasing more stock from them to increase our herd. We look forward to doing business in the future with Justin and Amy as they are professional, organised and friendly.
